Love is in the air and in your work

by
Stephanie Spell

Early on in my career, I mentioned to an executive I looked up to at the office that I loved my job. The retired Marine colonel looked sharply at me and with a terse tone said, “Young lady, we do not have a job here, we are performing a duty by serving our community.”

After I stammered a quivering “yes sir,” I quickly realized how right he was and how lucky I was to find a passion in service.

Finding something you love to do that turns a job into a pursuit of passion is rewarding and meaningful beyond measure.
