Stories contain lessons that span generations

Last week, “Fiddler on the Roof” was a sellout performance at Artis-Naples. It will likely have the same reception at Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall.

While the musical is set in the Pale of Settlement of Imperial Russia in 1905, it is a story that spans generations. Tevye, the father of five girls, works to instill religious and cultural traditions as his daughters grow to embrace new lifestyles.

Actor Danny Burstein reflects on connecting with his character over Tevye’s conversations with god, which offer a glimpse into the frustrations, humor and celebration of life that we all share.
