Kids, go outside

by

In one week, only 6% of kids aged 9 to 13 go outside on their own. Instead, the average child spends 53 hours per week indoors using electronic devices.

The Fish and Wildlife Foundation of Florida is working to reverse nature-deficit disorder – when children spend less time outdoors despite its benefits, which include increased confidence and creativity.

The foundation provides summer camp scholarships, funds school field trips and furnishes outdoor gear and educational materials to help get kids back to nature. It also protects Florida’s animals and plants along with the land and water resources they need to survive.
