Another summer activity worth trying this June is the Great Goliath Grouper Count. Join trained divers to conduct underwater surveys to help determine the population and distribution of Atlantic goliath grouper at designated nearshore and offshore habitats throughout Florida.
This stakeholder approach in collecting important data about the groupers has gathered over 150 volunteers, who have spent more than 350 hours of 768 underwater surveys with around 200 fish recorded annually.
Excited to be part of the GGGC from June 1-14? All volunteers need to review protocols and other details. Contact Angela Collins or get more information here.
