Strike a pose … a flamingo pose. It might save your life. Researchers asked 2,000 participants to balance on one leg for ten seconds. Twenty percent couldn’t do it.
The kicker is, after a follow-up time of seven years, a majority of those who failed the so called “flamingo test” had died. The study also found that those unable to strike the one-legged pose were more likely to be overweight and were three times as likely to have diabetes.
So start strengthening your legs by walking, running and biking. Tai chi is also an option, making us happy as a lark.
