Include your pets in your disaster planning

by
cat and dog

During natural disasters, pets are unfortunately left behind because their families didn’t include them in disaster preparation plans. Pets are important members of the family and need to be included in disaster plans, to protect their safety.

Before a hurricane threatens, you can take the time to prepare by reaching out to shelters and hotels to see if they can accommodate you and your pet’s needs. Make sure your disaster kit also includes their food, additional bottled water and medications, too.
