How does diabetes affect men?

by The 100 Companies

According to the CDC, in the US 15.5% of men were estimated to have diabetes in 2020, compared with 13.2% of women. Men are 26% more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes than women.

In men, diabetes doubles the risk for low testosterone, with symptoms like low energy, muscle loss, depression and sexual dysfunction. People with depression are also more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes and its symptoms are complicated. Thankfully, diabetics live longer and healthier lives with evidence-based medical services. Core Health Partners’ Diabetes Self-Management & Education program provides the knowledge and skills for sustainable long-term diabetes self-care.
