Books for Collier Kids and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office are distributing free books to kids to counter the “Summer Slide” through the Hot Summer Nights event scheduled on selected Thursdays from 6:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. This will event will run until July 28. Here are the remaining schedules for the month:

• July 21, 2022: Marco Island Mackle Park

• July 28, 2022: Everglades City Park

With the books, children are encouraged to continue reading. This would help maintain or improve their reading skills and ensure that they are ready for the next school year.
