In partnership with the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME) and the Collier County Public Schools, our office has helped hundreds of students cast a ballot to vote for their favorite Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) book using real voting equipment.
SSYRA encourages students to read independently for pleasure and provides a learning opportunity about voting. Participating schools will announce their students’ favorite book after their scheduled “Election Day” and FAME will announce the statewide election results April 23.
