Greening the community, one building at a time

Charlotte County is constructing buildings that meet higher standards of energy efficiency, however, for older homes and businesses, the county wants to help property owners take steps to improve efficiency.

To assist with the cost, Charlotte County is participating in Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE). This will conserve energy, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save money and green our community.

PACE eliminates the barrier of high upfront costs by allowing property owners to pay off energy-efficient and/or green-energy improvements through an assessment on their property tax bills. The program is greening the community, one building at a time.
