Think national, act local during Great American Cleanup

2019 marks the 21st year of the Great American Cleanup, which is a program under Keep America Beautiful.

Each year, the movement engages more than 3 million Americans, encouraging them to protect our environment through community cleanups, planting and recycling projects.

In 20,000 communities, Keep America Beautiful supports grassroots beautification and cleanup efforts. In Collier and Lee counties, the cleanup is usually held close to Earth Day, while Charlotte County hosts multiple events in conjunction with a community assessment.

During local cleanup events, more than 45 tons of litter and debris are collected, protecting our waterways and marine life.
