The Naples Airport teamed up with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and the Make-A-Wish Foundation to provide a once in a lifetime experience for a future aviator.
During a two-year battle with leukemia, 15-year-old Caleb Calderon developed a passion for aviation while he watched planes fly over the hospital. He was recently gifted a bedroom makeover with an aviation theme. While he is still battling leukemia, Caleb dreams of becoming a pilot.
Although he wasn’t medically cleared to fly, Caleb had the opportunity to experience nearly all aspects of being a pilot, including taxiing around Naples Airport in an aircraft.
