From one college student to another – networking isn’t as scary as it sounds

For fellow college students, I’m sure you’ve heard this advice: “You need to network.”

If the idea of cold-emailing industry professionals scares you, there are so many other ways to network during your day-to-day life (and chances are, you’re already doing them). For example:

• Engaging with classmates

• Going to office hours

• Asking guest speakers questions

• Joining student organizations

Just be engaged and give people a reason to remember you. Plus, once the hard part is done, you can always connect on LinkedIn and keep the conversation going.

You can learn more about the importance of networking and some tips here.
