Florida remains the top destination for foreign buyers

International home buyers are back, and they’re choosing homes in Florida.

According to a recent NAR study, Florida led the nation in welcoming international buyers, as one in four buyers selected properties in the Sunshine State from April 2021-March 2022.

The uptick represents an 8.5% increase from the previous 12-month period, and the end of a pandemic-led, three-year skid. For the 14th-straight year, Florida remained the top destination for foreign real estate buyers.

What are they buying?

• Forty-four percent purchased a property for use as a vacation home, rental property or both.

• Sixty-four percent purchased detached single-family homes and townhomes.
