During the 2024 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, consumers can purchase qualifying disaster preparedness supplies exempt from tax during two periods: from June 1-14 and from Aug. 24-Sept. 6.
Qualifying items exempt from sales tax include any portable, self-powered light source; any gas or diesel fuel container; batteries; portable radios; fire extinguishers and eligible pet evacuation supplies.
The sales tax holiday does not apply to rental or repair of any of the qualifying items from sales in theme parks, entertainment complexes, public lodging establishments or airports.
