Florida’s back-to-school tax holiday

by
back to school tax holiday

Are you looking to start your back-to-school shopping? Mark your calendars for Florida’s tax holiday, which occurs Aug. 2-6.

Tax-exempt items include:

• Clothing, shoes and backpacks that are $60 or less.

• School supplies under $15 such as pencils, notebooks and paper.

• Electronic devices such as tablets, computers and their accessories under $1,000.

The sales tax holiday is not mandatory, so double-check that your favorite stores are participating before you fill your cart. School-supply shopping lists may also be available at the stores, but you can usually find customized lists on your school’s website.
