Facebook fundraisers celebrate one-year anniversary

On Aug. 16, 2017, Facebook introduced a new platform for users to give back on their birthdays. Here’s a look at the first year of Facebook fundraisers.

People raised more than $300 million for 750,000 nonprofits, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Alzheimer’s Association, the American Cancer Society and more. Topping the charts, the largest Facebook fundraiser has raised $20.7 million to date. It provided support for the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services.
