Marco Island Center for the Arts kicks off Musical Interludes with a Latin Twist

Latin Infusion! Featuring Gulfshore Opera’s GO Diva Erika Ramirez
October 14, 2022, Marco Island:  Musical Interludes with a Latin Twist is part of Collier County wide festival “¡ARTE VIVA!” a Celebration of Hispanic Art and Culture. Latin Infusion!  Is the first of the 2022-2023 season on October 25, 2022 at 5:30 pm. Attendees will experience a kaleidoscope of Latin music including boleros, Latin pop, traditional folk music from Mexico, Venezuela, Peru, Spain, and more! Join Gulfshore Opera’s GO DIVA, Erika Ramirez from Venezuela accompanied by guitarist Jose A Fernandez-Acosta.
 
Venezuelan soprano, Erika Ramirez, obtained her degree with honors in “Music Performance” at Universidad de Los Andes (Mérida- Venezuela) as a student of the famous Venezuelan baritone William Alvarado. She also studied in Spain with Montserrat Caballé and with René Morlóck at the Stuttgart Bach Academy. Erika made her opera debut as Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore in 2005. Other opera role include Gilda in Rigoletto and Despina in Così fan tutte. On the concert stage, she has performed frequently with the main orchestras of Venezuela and as a recitalist in Spain, Italy, Panamá, Perú and United States. Her very diverse repertoire includes music styles from Renaissance, Baroque, classical, Bel canto opera, traditional Spanish song with guitar accompaniment, Latin American music and Broadway musicals. Erika recently established residence in Ft Myers, Florida and is part of Gulfshore Opera staff as a teacher for the Harmony Choir and a member of the costume team.
