No other plant says “Florida” more than the famous palm tree. Choosing a palm tree is a major investment, and with over 2000 species to choose from, this class will provide the knowledge to make an informed choice for your landscape. Once you provide a palm with its new home, it very important to take care of your investment. Participants will learn about proper feeding techniques, disease management, best pruning methods, and how to care for palms damaged by hurricanes. We will spend 60 minutes in the classroom and 30 minutes in the Palmetum. All participants will receive a palm tree seedling and a 20% discount coupon towards plant purchases at the Garden Shoppe. Class will be held at the Garden Council Building, located across the street from the Edison Ford parking lot (on Larchmont). Advance registration is required at edisonford.org.
