Ask the Curator: Who was Theodore Edison?

Come join Collections Registrar, Matt Andres, as he recognizes the person known as the “little laboratory assistant”. This discussion will include his educational background and work. In addition, you will learn about Thomas Edison’s influence on Theodore’s career and many of the similar qualities that he and his father shared. Theodore was also an inventor like his father with more than 80 patents to his name. He became an environmentalist and helped preserve land in Southwest Florida as well.

The Edison and Ford Winter Estates date from 1885, when Thomas Edison first visited SWFL and purchased property to build a vacation home.
