At this dinner event, author Nancy Chism will talk about how she fulfilled a promise made to her friend by writing the biography, Pickin’ Cotton on the Way to Church: The Life and Work of Boniface Hardin, O.S.B. She will describe Hardin’s roots in segregated Kentucky, his struggle to find a seminary, his activism during the Civil Rights years, and the community organizations he began, culminating in his founding of Martin University, where he served as president for 30 years.
