Emergency berm project delayed on Marco Island

by The 100 Companies

On Monday, June 5, contractors will begin the emergency beach berm project in the City of Marco Island at 7 a.m., one week later than the original start date of May 30. The project is expected to last two weeks.

There will be 20-30 dump trucks lining South Collier Boulevard each morning of the project between 6-8 a.m. Trucks will enter South Beach through Cape Marco throughout the day, reducing traffic along South Collier Boulevard to one lane.

The county will have sea turtle monitors on the beach each morning, roping off nests and reporting locations to the contractors.
