Higher education and workforce = Economic growth

by

Why is workforce education important to higher education? Over 50% of the open positions in the Southwest Florida region pay less than the High Skills High Wages (HSHW) threshold.

The relationship between education, wage growth and occupational growth shows a definitive pattern. More education leads directly to careers that typically pay higher wages. This clearly demonstrates the need for workforce certificates and degrees.

Southwest Florida economic drivers are concentrated more toward occupations that demand less than a degree. The challenge remains to offer programs needed to train the workers a region needs and attract those who help foster economic diversification.
