Educating future animal stewards

by
Adam Pottruck

Growing up in SWFL, Adam Pottruck felt a special love for all animals, but he had no idea how far his love would go.

Pottruck currently houses 50 species of exotic animals, including Gus, a bearded dragon. Gus’ original owners used a harsh cleaning chemical to clean his cage that left him unable to shut his mouth. Pottruck shares Gus’ story to educate students on the species and why we should care about our environment.

As they drive to schools for presentations, Gus prefers to ride on the car’s dashboard so that he can spot birds with his third eye.
