Pink might not be your preferred color for decorating, but it might just be your new favorite color for noise. Scientists have dubbed the sound wavelengths that are found in steady rainfall and gentle breezes as pink noise.
And it turns out that pink noise is a lot like white noise, but with less of the higher frequencies associated with white noise. Research shows pink noise can improve sleep as well as memory. Look for sound machines and nature soundscapes that have audio tracks of waterfalls, fan sounds or rain to give pink noise a try for sound sleep tonight.
