Discovery Channel’s 33rd annual Shark Week begins July 11th

Living in Florida, we tend to wade fearlessly into the ocean — which is often conveniently located right in our backyards — never thinking about the predators swimming in the depths. Well, Discovery Channel’s popular Shark Week certainly serves as a reminder.

From July 11 through July 18, tune into Discovery and discovery+ for the 33rd annual television event, complete with riveting footage and retellings of shark encounters, in addition to the platform’s first-ever shark competitive reality series, Shark Academy, and the return of shark-themed episodes of Josh Gates Tonight.

After watching, even us Floridians may think twice before entering the water.
