The “baby-blues” affects up to 80% of women. These are common feelings of being overwhelmed, anxious and a little depressed two days to two weeks after giving birth. Postpartum depression is one of the most common medical conditions that a mother can experience after birth and affects one out of every seven mothers.

In this quarter’s Mind Your Mind content, DLC Community Partner NCH Healthcare System’s RN Perinatal Educator explains what family members and new mothers can do to recognize and intervene when these intense symptoms limit their ability to take care of their baby or conduct their daily activities.
