Our community experienced widespread trauma and loss due to Hurricane Ian. While recovering from a major natural disaster can be taxing physically, it can also take a significant toll on our wellbeing.
Feelings such as anxiety, constant worrying, trouble sleeping and depression-like symptoms are common. Youth, seniors and first responders/recovery workers are at risk for emotional distress after these types of storms.
In response to the increased demand for crisis support and disaster relief, David Lawrence Centers is sharing content and resources this month at DLCMindYourMind.org about how to address community needs related to the psychological impacts from Ian.
