Many kids feel alone and are bullied at school and online, but they’re scared to speak up. If not addressed, bullying causes anxiety and depression.
For children struggling with insecurities and negative self-talk, bullying can have a devastating impact and contribute to suicidal thoughts. Through the #StandUp campaign, in partnership with Collier County Public Schools, David Lawrence Center goes into the classroom, teaching children to recognize, report and refuse bullying.
Through age-appropriate, fun and hands-on lessons, kids learn to maintain assertiveness, show respect and get a trusted adult involved. Most importantly, they’re taught to always be kind.
