Crab this chance and become a Citizen Scientist!

The Florida Horseshoe Crab Watch is a joint effort between the Florida Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) and University of Florida (UF). The program aims to train volunteers to assist biologists in surveying, tagging, measuring and tracking horseshoe crabs in Charlotte Harbor to help monitor their population.

Volunteers don’t need prior experience to join but are required to attend the in-person training on Sept. 21 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Punta Gorda Library. However, volunteers with prior experience can complete online training.
