Children’s Crisis Unit expands (again) to meet demand

David Lawrence Center’s Children’s Crisis Unit provides brief inpatient evaluation and treatment for children and teens experiencing acute psychiatric crises.

The number of kids needing crisis stabilization far outpaces population growth. To meet demand, David Lawrence Center (DLC) added four beds in 2016 and will open three more beds this month. We’ll need many more –  at least double that  –  to accommodate current demand and plan for future growth. But that will take time and funding.

Donations can be made online to offset the $350,000 Crisis Unit expansion cost and support DLC’s efforts to provide more prevention and early intervention services.
