Carrie Bradshaw isn’t the only person who loves the smell of books. According to the Association of American Publishers, the eReader market is down across the globe, with $22 billion coming from print copies compared to $2 billion for eBooks in 2019.
“While the world went virtual, many people took solace in the comfort of holding a ‘real’ book,” says best-selling author Mary Kay Andrews. “Also, indie bookstores were prompted by the pandemic to take mail order sales seriously, refining their packing and shipping operations.”
