Building your community of donors – outside

by
Naples Zoo

For some nonprofits, like the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens, building a donor base is essential for existence. This year, the organization is celebrating two milestone anniversaries: 50 years as a zoo and 100 years as a botanical garden.

Marci Seamples, the director of development, shared a part of her philosophy for engaging donors throughout the years.

She suggests planning an event just to say thank you, outside of your organization’s location. This makes people feel appreciated and helps deeper connections blossom. Seamples says her supporters often look forward to reconnecting with each other, as friends with a shared passion.
