Benefits of saving and using rainwater

by The 100 Companies

You’ve heard the old song, “Rain, Rain Go Away,” but for many financially and/or environmentally conscious people, that’s far from their sentiment. That’s because saving and using rainwater can decrease water bills and create a sustainable landscape, among other benefits.

Rainwater can be collected through designated retention zones for drainages called rain gardens; rain barrels, containers situated under downspouts to catch roof runoff; and cisterns, which can hold over 1,600 gallons. It can then be used to irrigate lawns and gardens — a popular option — or even wash vehicles and fill ponds, fountains and swimming pools.
