Around 35% of back-to-school shopping is done online and 65% of transactions are made using smartphones. Although this makes school preparations more convenient, it also gives rise to devious scamming activities.
So, how do you protect yourself from these scammers? Here are some tips:
• If doubtful, don’t click that link. Don’t be easily swayed by too-good-to-be-true offers. Double-check links, attachments, emails, websites or social media posts before clicking.
• Unique and strong passwords are very helpful. Regularly change your password and use strong combinations.
• Don’t forget to install security software that detects and blocks threats that can potentially do some damage.
