When 18-year-old Solomon Keim started playing the saxophone at age 10, he didn’t know then it would be his ticket to college and the 75th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy.
Solomon joined 26 other top teen musicians on the Florida Music Ambassadors’ trip to France that included performing at Omaha Beach in Normandy.
Solomon is one of seven students who were awarded the 2019 Charlie Hounchell Art Stars Scholarships by Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture & the Arts. The scholarship provides the instrumental music winner with financial tuition assistance to attend Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.
