Advocating for infants and children in Southwest Florida

For Julie Pedretti, advocating for children and families in Southwest Florida is a dream job. As area director of community relations at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, she advocates for the public interest so that families understand their pediatric care options.

Every day, an average of four children and their families travel from Southwest Florida to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital in Miami for highly specialized diagnostics, medical treatment and surgery.

Recently, Pedretti helped a family obtain treatment for their 12-year-old daughter, who was suffering from a severe dermatological issue. The young girl gained a better quality of life thanks to Pedretti.
